Artist Biography
Linyu Wang (1996, China) is a Shanghai-based painter and visual artist whose works explore the intersection of Eastern mythology, nature, energy, and spirituality. Having painted since childhood, she has devoted more than seventeen years to her artistic journey.
Raised in a family deeply influenced by traditional Chinese culture, temple rituals, and folk Feng Shui practices, Linyu grew up surrounded by stories of guardian spirits, protective deities, and the belief that the environment mirrors one’s inner state. These early influences shaped both her artistic sensitivity and her understanding of energy, protection, and harmony in daily life.
Since 2024, Linyu has been working full-time as an independent oil painter, developing a distinctive body of work that merges dreamlike imagination with meditative stillness and emotional depth. Her paintings frequently portray forests, white dragons, luminous deities, and spirit guardians—symbols inspired by childhood dreams, temple iconography, and the subconscious flow of traditional metaphysics.
For Linyu, painting is not only an artistic practice but also an extension of spiritual intention. Many of her works are created with the concepts of energy protection, good fortune, and emotional grounding, echoing classical Feng Shui principles such as inviting prosperity, guarding the home, and strengthening personal aura through imagery and symbolism.
Before dedicating herself fully to painting, Linyu worked as a concept artist in the game and film industries, where she honed her sense of composition, visual storytelling, and emotional pacing. These experiences lend her paintings a cinematic structure and narrative subtlety.
Her artistic practice also extends into fine art prints, NFTs, wearable charms, and cross-media collaborations, yet oil painting remains her most complete and personal form of expression.
